Install and setup help

Help with installing MarkOut, activating it, and setting up accurate print output.

Install

Download the Windows setup file, open it, and choose Install. Open MarkOut from its desktop or Start menu shortcut.

Everything included

The current setup includes the .NET runtime and document converter. Older ZIP versions may still need the runtime link below.

Access

Sign in to get your activation code. Invited testers can paste their private tester code in the same field.

Install checklist

  • Go to the download page and sign in.
  • Download MarkOut-Setup-1.0.0-build42.exe for Windows and copy your activation code.
  • Open the downloaded MarkOut Setup file and choose Install.
  • Open MarkOut from its desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • If Windows shows an unsigned app warning, click More info, then Run anyway if you trust the download from markoutprint.com.
  • Install Microsoft .NET 8 Desktop Runtime if Windows asks for it.
Current builds are unsigned. Only run MarkOut from the protected download at markoutprint.com.

Print a document

  1. Open Document Mode and add a PDF, DOC, DOCX, or image file. Every document page appears in the page list.
  2. Choose your printer, paper size, and orientation. Use All pages to check the whole document, or select a page for a closer look.
  3. Choose Fit to printable area to keep content inside the printer margins. Actual size preserves the original physical dimensions; content beyond the paper edges is clipped.
  4. Print the document or export a PDF. Double-sided printing depends on your printer's capabilities.

Update without losing your work

  1. Save your project and close MarkOut.
  2. Download the latest Windows setup file from your account.
  3. Run MarkOut Setup, choose Install, then open MarkOut from its shortcut.
  4. Choose your saved project in MarkOut Projects to carry on where you left off.

Saved projects, preferences, and activation are stored separately from the application files. Updating does not require uninstalling MarkOut or deleting its data.

Send a crash report

In MarkOut Projects, open Help & diagnostics and choose Save support report. On the support form below, attach that ZIP or the latest .log file and include your email so we can reply. You can send a report without signing in.
